PC Gamer’s results belong to a specific unit, power profile, memory configuration, driver, and settings. They demonstrate Arc B390 potential without promising identical numbers in every game. Native 1920×1200 and upscaled tests must be separated because workload and resulting image quality differ.

The 1% low matters alongside average FPS. A high average with deep drops can feel worse than a lower stable rate. On an eight-inch screen, a 40 or 60 FPS cap often improves consistency and preserves battery headroom.

What the Battery Test Means

The PCMark 10 Gaming run lasted 308 minutes in Endurance mode and 153 minutes under the default profile. That is a valuable within-method comparison, not a forecast for every trip. Brightness, Wi-Fi, sound, background activity, and the chosen game all change consumption.

The important result is the available tuning range rather than one hour count. Performance can be exchanged for substantially longer operation when a game remains comfortable at a lower power limit. Older, independent, and turn-based games may benefit more from that flexibility than from maximum output.

Chassis, Controls, and Storage

An eight-inch display provides more interface room but produces a larger device than compact handhelds. Grip and weight should be tested personally because comfort depends on hand size, elbow support, and session length. Hall Effect sticks and triggers reduce contact-wear drift risk without guaranteeing an ideal chassis shape.

A full M.2 2280 slot simplifies SSD replacement and broadens drive choice. An upgrade still requires checking thickness, thermal pads, and warranty terms. An accessible slot does not remove the need to migrate the system and data safely.

Who Actually Needs the Flagship

The Claw 8 EX AI+ makes sense for someone who regularly plays away from power, uses several Windows storefronts, and will tune each game’s power profile. In that case, Arc G3 Extreme performance and operating-system flexibility reinforce each other, while the premium buys frequent utility.

If it remains at home, compare it with a laptop, mini PC, or cheaper handheld. A leading FPS result does not automatically justify the price. The right decision depends on how often portability and Endurance mode solve a practical problem, not victory in one chart.
