Modder ports CS2 assets into Roblox engine
A modder known as Acetul has ported the assets and gameplay of Counter-Strike 2 into the Roblox engine. The project has garnered praise from the community for its faithful recreation of the Valve shooter.
To achieve this level of fidelity, Acetul ripped models, textures, and sounds directly from CS2, converting them into a format compatible with the proprietary Roblox engine. While the visual resemblance is striking, subtle differences in lighting and sound propagation become noticeable during active gameplay.
The creator stated that the project was made for entertainment and educational purposes. However, the use of Valve's assets will likely result in a DMCA notice, potentially affecting the game's availability. Currently, the project is available for testing.
This effort highlights the accessibility of modern game creation tools like Roblox Studio. While CS2 is a free-to-play title, such mods demonstrate the engine's potential to host complex experiences that could eventually lead creators toward professional AAA development.
