Mewgenics nominated for three Golden Joystick Awards
Mewgenics, the latest title from the creator of The Binding of Isaac, has secured three nominations for the Golden Joystick Awards. Developer Edmund McMillen shared the news in a recent update, alongside details regarding upcoming community streams and DLC development.
The game has been nominated in three categories: Best Indie (Self-Published), Best Soundtrack, and Game of the Year (PC). McMillen noted the significance of these nominations, mentioning that his games have rarely seen such award recognition since Gish won at the IGF back in 2005.
In addition to the award news, the developer announced a return to monthly live streams for the next six months. These sessions are intended to showcase new Mewgenics merchandise, provide updates on the upcoming DLC, and host QA sessions with the community. The first stream is scheduled for October 7th and may include early gameplay footage of the expansion.
Regarding technical updates, Mewgenics has already expanded its language support to include Russian, Japanese, Korean, and Simplified Chinese. Recent patches have focused on localization fixes, font updates, and art adjustments for various in-game elements.
