MAGES. announces occult suspense visual novel Seeker Eye for PS5 and Switch
MAGES. has officially announced Seeker Eye, a new occult suspense visual novel set to launch this winter on PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch in Japan. Developed by the creative team behind the acclaimed Science Adventure series, the title marks a significant departure from its scientific roots into the realm of supernatural phenomena that defy logic.
The game's development roster features heavy hitters from the studio's history: Fumihiro Kitahara serves as Planning and Concept artist, while Ryou Yasumoto handles the scenario. The musical score is composed by Takeshi Abo, and supervision is provided by Tatsuya Matsubara and Naotaka Hayashi.
Departing from the "logic and science" themes of previous works, Seeker Eye explores unexplainable supernatural events. The narrative is triggered by "The Red Roof House," a ghost story originally released on the MAGES. Horror Channel YouTube series in 2024.
In this unique meta-narrative, players who read the ghost story in the real world become "infected" by the supernatural elements. What begins as entertainment consumed through a screen eventually blurs the line between fiction and reality, directly involving the player alongside the characters within the story itself.
