The 512GB model of the "Lexar" NQ790 PCIe 4.0 M.2 NVMe SSD (model LNQ790X512G-RNNNG) has arrived at select retailers in Akihabara. The current retail price is set at 17,980 yen.
The NQ790 series is built on 3D NAND flash and utilizes a PCIe Gen4 x4 interface. This specific 512GB model features a DRAM-less design that relies on HMB (Host Memory Buffer) technology and SLC caching to manage data transfers. This approach allows for a more cost-effective implementation while maintaining high-speed performance.
Key performance specifications for the 512GB variant include:
- Sequential Read: up to 6,400 MB/s;
- Sequential Write: up to 2,900 MB/s;
- Random Read: up to 800,000 IOPS;
- Random Write: up to 600,000 IOPS;
- Total Bytes Written (TBW): 300 TBW.
The drive comes in the standard M.2 2280 form factor.
