In the third round of the group stage at LCK 2026 Season, KT Rolster suffered a decisive defeat against Gen.G. The match, held on Sunday at LCK Arena, concluded with a scoreline of 0-2. This loss marked KT's first consecutive defeat and ended their four-game winning streak.
Following the match, head coach Ko Do Gwin of KT Rolster admitted that the team failed to execute its potential in critical areas. «The opponent played well, but on our side, there were many shortcomings both in gameplay and ban picks», he stated.
The coach pointed to strategic errors in composition selection. According to him, Gen.G effectively utilized their top pick Shen, which proved difficult for KT to handle. «We considered this pick viable, but that combination allowed the opponent to gain an advantage, completely removing our ability to engage in fights», Ko Do Gwin added.
The second map also failed to deliver the expected result due to a lack of damage output in the composition. «We again chose a composition with insufficient damage, which allowed Gen.G to dominate smoothly and win the match without much effort», the coach commented.
Despite the setback, Ko Do Gwin emphasized the importance of this match for playoff preparation. «Although we won the previous three games, I believe we are still in the stage of building our form», he declared. The coach added that the loss against Gen.G was a valuable lesson: «We must become the best team by the time of the playoffs. We will continue to work on improving our gameplay».
