Krafton Apologizes for Operational Issues at PUBG Asia Stars 2026
Krafton has issued a formal apology regarding concerns over competitive integrity raised during the first day of PUBG Asia Stars 2026. In response to the controversy, the organizers announced roster adjustments for certain players and the implementation of broadcast delays for major matches.
As reported by Kakao Battlegrounds, Krafton acknowledged that they failed to maintain sufficient trust in the tournament's operation. The company stated that the concerns regarding fairness were caused by operational shortcomings that should have been addressed during the preparation phase.
To prevent similar issues from recurring, the following measures will be applied starting from Day 2:
- Roster adjustments for two players in certain regional teams;
- Implementation of a broadcast delay for major matches;
- Re-communication of operational rules to all participants;
- Enhanced monitoring of gameplay.
However, the official announcement did not specify which matches or regions were affected, nor did it name the players involved in the roster changes. Furthermore, the company did not confirm whether any specific rule violations were officially verified during the investigation. Consequently, these measures cannot be definitively linked to confirmed misconduct by specific individuals at this stage.
PUBG Asia Stars is a regional tournament featuring teams from six Asian regions: South Korea, China, Japan, Chinese Taipei, Thailand, and Vietnam. Each team consists of eight members, including professional players, PUBG partners, and streamers. The tournament runs from September 17 to September 20, with the final ranking determined by cumulative scores across nine disciplines, including the 8-player squad Battle Royale.
