Undefeated Champions: South Korea Secures Back-to-Back LoL Titles

The South Korean national team for League of Legends has achieved a historic back-to-back championship run at the Asian Games. Following a dominant 3-0 victory over Chinese Taipei in the finals, the squad secured their titles without suffering a single loss throughout the tournament.

Mentorship and Team Chemistry

For Kim "Zeka" Geon-woo, this tournament marked his first appearance at the Asian Games. While acknowledging the immense pressure of starting for the national team, Zeka credited much of his comfort to the support of his teammates and staff. He specifically highlighted the influence of Lee "Faker" Sang-hyeong, noting that constant advice and feedback from the veteran allowed him to perform without the usual burden of responsibility.

Kim "Canyon" Geon-bu commented on the process of building synergy, noting that while integrating players from different professional clubs presented challenges, the experience was highly rewarding. Lee "Gumayusi" Min-hyeong expressed immense pride in the achievement, describing the journey from selection to standing on the podium with world-class teammates as a fantastic experience.

Overcoming Strategic Pressure

The final match required the team to counter a heavy strategic focus from Chinese Taipei on the bottom lane. Gumayusi acknowledged the high level of preparation from their opponents but noted that teammate coordination was vital in neutralizing the threat. Ryu "Keria" Min-seok reflected on the tactical battle, admitting there were moments where they could have handled the opponent's strategy even more effectively, but ultimately emphasized that the team successfully executed the best possible plays under the circumstances.

Head Coach Kang Dong-hoon expressed his profound pride in the squad, attributing the victory to a combination of well-prepared strategies and the players' exceptional in-game adaptability.

Chasing a Triple Crown

For Choi "Zeus" Woo-je and Keria, this victory marks their second gold medal following their success in Hangzhou. Keria stated that this run solidifies South Korea's reputation as a powerhouse in League of Legends and expressed a desire to compete in future iterations of the event. Meanwhile, Zeus is already looking ahead, stating that if given the opportunity, he aims to lead the team to a third consecutive title.
