Kena: Scars of Kosmora launches in 2027
Ember Lab has announced that Kena: Scars of Kosmora is now scheduled for a 2027 release. The studio decided to push the launch date to allow more time for polishing and to ensure the game's scale exceeds the quality achieved in their 2021 debut, Bridge of Spirits.
While maintaining its identity as a character-focused linear adventure, Kena: Scars of Kosmora will feature a much broader and deeper scope. The story follows Kena as she travels to the mysterious island of Kosmora to reunite with her childhood friend, Orfio. The journey aims to uncover secrets regarding her past and her future as a Spirit Guide.

The world of Kosmora is built around ancient cultures that once thrived by harnessing four elements through Alchemystic Temples. Following a mysterious cataclysm that destroyed one of these cultures, the spiritual wisdom of the elements has largely faded. Players will explore complex Spirit Guide temples that function as dungeons, challenging their skills and providing transformative rewards to aid their progression.

A significant addition to the gameplay is a new crystalline canine companion. This ancient spirit serves as a mount, a combat ally for both mounted and on-foot encounters, and a tool for solving Alchemystic puzzles. This companion is deeply tied to the origins of the island itself.

Kena: Scars of Kosmora is slated to release in 2027 on PlayStation 5 (physical and digital) and PC (digital). A specific release date within 2027 has not yet been confirmed.
