Intel Panther Lake Driver Allows Arc Pro iGPUs to Use Up to 93% of System RAM
Integrated graphics in Intel Panther Lake processors (Core Ultra Series 3) are getting more flexible: the Arc Pro driver now allows iGPUs to use up to 93% of total system memory. This applies to Intel Arc Pro B370 and Intel Arc Pro B390, which are targeted at professional workloads, visualization, and local AI tasks.

According to VideoCardz and confirmed by Intel, the new feature is called Shared GPU Memory Override. By default, the driver allocates about 57% of system RAM for the iGPU, but users can now set a limit up to 93%. On a system with 64 GB of RAM, this translates to a theoretical maximum of 59.5 GB.

It is crucial to understand the technical reality: this does not add dedicated video memory like GDDR or HBM. The integrated graphics still use shared system DDR/LPDDR memory that also serves the CPU, OS, and applications. High memory volume is balanced by the shared memory bus bandwidth.

Why is this useful? Some professional applications and local AI models check available VRAM before launching. If an iGPU reports a small amount of memory, the app may fail to start or run with limitations. Increasing the limit allows for larger textures, complex scenes in visualization, and bigger models without artificial constraints.

However, there is a caveat: memory bandwidth remains a bottleneck. Even with 59.5 GB available, data transfer speed depends on RAM type and memory controller, not just volume. For high graphics or heavy compute tasks, this can become a limiting factor.

The feature is available in Intel Graphics Software version 25.26.1602.2 and later (driver 32.0.101.6974). It is beneficial for thin laptops and compact workstations where no discrete GPU is installed, but flexibility in memory handling is required.
