Hozy brings calm, tactile home restoration to PS5 on November 9
Imagine actually enjoying cleaning your house or ripping out old tiles. tinyBuild Games has announced that Hozy, a cozy, tactile, and stress-free home restoration game, is coming to PlayStation 5 on November 9.
Set in the world of Littleville, Hozy is designed for players looking to completely unwind. There are no timers, no scores, and no pressure. Each level features a space with its own atmosphere and story, where your task is to tidy up, renovate, and then furnish the area using provided sets of furniture and decor. To ensure the end result always looks worthy of an interior design magazine, each level features a carefully curated set of items rather than an overwhelming catalogue.
Comfort in every detail
To tackle refurbishment tasks, players will have access to an array of tools, from a simple mop to a crowbar. The developers aim to ensure that even simple tasks like mopping floors bring joy through satisfying interactions. Players can interact with the surroundings in various ways: opening windows to let the breeze play with dust particles, lighting a lamp to create a cozy reading nook, or playing a tune on the piano. Every surface, object, and instrument has its own unique sound, and the music changes dynamically as you progress. For the full experience, developers recommend playing with headphones or a home cinema system.
Immersive cozy gameplay
A major focus of development was making instrument interaction as responsive as possible, specifically leveraging the DualSense wireless controller. Haptic feedback is used to make interacting with objects and surfaces feel more realistic—such as the sensation of a mop gliding across a floor or arranging furniture. Adaptive triggers provide resistance, such as when floorboards give way to a crowbar. Additionally, the DualSense's built-in speaker helps immerse players by emitting subtle, additional sounds from the instruments being used.
More ways to play
Once the main storyline of nine unique levels is complete, players can return to restored houses via a 'Game+' mode. This mode allows players to see rooms in a new light by switching between day and night, as well as furnishing them with different sets of furniture. For those seeking total creative freedom, a Sandbox mode provides access to every item in the game, allowing players to mix, match, duplicate, and customize rooms as they wish.
tinyBuild has also confirmed plans for seasonal events and various DLCs, both free and paid. The game will include accessibility features such as adjustable tool movement speed, camera inversion, and color display settings, and will be available in 11 different languages. Players can also enjoy the experience on PlayStation Portal.
