Hanwha Life eSports defeats Dplus KIA 2-0 in LCK after dramatic comeback

During the fourth round of LCK, Hanwha Life eSports defeated Dplus KIA with a score of 2-0. The match, held on August 20 at Grand Seoul in Jongno-gu, marked a significant turning point for both teams.

Dplus KIA, unable to continue their four-game winning streak, finished the season with a record of 16 wins and 9 losses (+9). For Hanwha Life eSports, this victory was crucial for maintaining their position in the upper bracket, allowing them to reach a record of 17 wins and 7 losses (+18).

First Match: Turnaround and Baron Decisiveness

In the first match, Hanwha Life eSports struggled for most of the game but managed to turn the tide in the second half. A key moment was the protection of Baron at the 30-minute mark, which allowed the team to create a decisive advantage.

In the ensuing mid-lane fight at the 31st minute, I Min-hyeong (nickname Gumayusi) proved to be the MVP. His precise use of his ultimate ability allowed the team to secure a dominant victory in the skirmish and destroy the opponent's base just two minutes later, ending the match with a 1-0 lead.

Second Match: Battle for Control

In the second match, Dplus KIA attempted to recover. At the start of the match, Ji Geon-woo (nickname Zeka) used Orianna's ultimate ability to neutralize two enemies in a skirmish with empty lanes. This allowed the team to regain control of the situation.

In the middle of the match, the battle for map control was intense. At the 23rd minute, Hanwha Life eSports secured victory in the fight around the Ocean Dragon thanks to the skill of Seo Jin-hyeok (nickname Kanavi) with Nautilus, which helped the team seize the initiative. On the other hand, Dplus KIA managed to respond with a counter-attack: Shin Geum-jae (nickname Splash) recorded several multi-kills using Meli.

Despite the resistance, Hanwha Life eSports maintained control over Baron at the 40th minute. The team used this advantage to attack the opponent's base, destroying their crystal and closing out the series with a 2-0 victory.
