GTA 6 PC release planned for early 2027, report claims
It might be happening sooner than expected. According to a report from GamesBeat, Rockstar Games is reportedly planning to release GTA 6 on PC during the opening months of 2027.
The report, citing four industry sources familiar with the studio's plans, suggests a release window in the first three months of 2027. This would mean a launch by the end of March at the latest, assuming no delays occur. Rockstar has not provided any official comment regarding these claims.
If accurate, this timeline would place the PC version just a few months behind the initial console launch scheduled for November 19. This is a significant departure from the release pattern of GTA 5, which arrived on PC roughly a year after its console debut. Such a move could be aimed at maximizing the player base ahead of the inevitable launch of the game's online component.
While there is no official confirmation regarding the multiplayer launch, Twitch CEO Dan Clancy previously hinted in September that he expects a major multiplayer element to arrive sometime in 2027. Given the massive revenue generated by online modes, bringing PC players into the ecosystem early would align with the strategic interests of Take-Two.
