GIRLS' FRONTLINE 2: EXILIUM: 'Chiral Redundancy' update adds OTs-14

GIRLS' FRONTLINE 2: EXILIUM has launched its “Chiral Redundancy” update, introducing OTs-14, the game’s first MOD Doll Nemesis: Gnosis, and a substantial package of rewards for returning players.

The update, which began on August 27, marks a significant narrative and mechanical shift for the tactical strategy RPG. It is designed to help both new and returning Commanders build their squads while advancing the main storyline. The first phase of the patch runs until September 16, with a second phase launching on September 17.

OTs-14 is the first Doll to feature the new “Resonance” Attribute. This ability allows her to adapt to the attributes of other Dolls in her squad, providing different bonuses depending on team composition. She functions as both a damage dealer and a support unit, making her a flexible addition to various team organizations.

The update also introduces the Doll MOD system, which allows Standard Dolls to be upgraded into Elite Dolls. Nemesis: Gnosis is the first character to showcase this progression system. Through the “Gnostic Insight” event, players can obtain Nemesis’s Original Frame for free. Segment materials are available via points from themed shops, allowing players to develop her to Segment 6 at no cost. Her corresponding Elite Weapon can also be developed for free. Nemesis: Gnosis features dual-form combat capabilities, allowing players to switch between two forms based on their needs.

Narratively, the update explores themes of memory and identity. The story reveals that the original frame of Groza, who was believed to have sacrificed herself, was recovered and modified into a third-generation Doll known as Juno. Meanwhile, the Groza who has accompanied the Commander throughout the game was reconstructed from a backup frame. Their meeting leads to an emotional confrontation and a key decision for the Commander. The update also continues the Commander’s “Tomato Emperor” storyline, expanding the tomato enterprise from the Mokosh base and forging new partnerships.

Returning players receive over 80 pulls and 9,400+ Collapse Pieces through play and daily exchanges. The Reunion Oath missions award up to 80 additional Reunion Permissions, guaranteeing at least one Elite Doll or Elite Weapon for free. Additional benefits include a welcome-back letter, exclusive login rewards, and double resource benefits.

New systems include the “Tile Transformation” system, which allows different attribute tiles to combine into new Fusion Tiles, and the seasonal “Frontier Conquest” campaign mode. New outfits are also featured, including OTs-14’s “Destined Love” and Klukai’s “Immaculate Service.” The second half of the update will introduce Soppo, the first Doll capable of dealing both Freeze and Burn dual-attribute damage.
