GeForce RTX 5080 disappears from NVIDIA’s official US Marketplace
The GeForce RTX 5080 is no longer listed in the GPU selection of NVIDIA’s official US Marketplace. Users spotted the disappearance of the 16GB card from the available filters, following a similar occurrence with the RTX 5090 earlier this month.
The removal of the RTX 5080 follows a recent incident involving the RTX 5090. On October 16, the 5090 briefly reappeared in the Marketplace with a listing priced at $5,599—nearly 2.8 times its original $1,999 MSRP—before being removed again. Currently, while NVIDIA continues to advertise the $999 MSRP for the RTX 5080 on its product pages, the card is entirely absent from the official sales channel.
Rumors of a 24GB replacement and supply issues
This disappearance coincides with reports that NVIDIA may be preparing to replace the current 16GB model with a 24GB version. Current estimates suggest that existing 16GB inventory might only last for approximately two more months, with the potential 24GB variant arriving between December 2026 and January 2027.
Retail pricing has also become a point of contention. As of late October, verified offers from major US retailers like Best Buy started at $1,979.99 to $1,999.99, nearly double the manufacturer's $999 MSRP. Although NVIDIA has denied that the RTX 5090 has been discontinued, board partners have reportedly faced difficulties ordering new GB202 GPU and memory packages.
While removing a product from a marketplace doesn't always signal a permanent discontinuation—it can simply mean a lack of immediate stock—the situation for the RTX 5080 is notable because the official NVIDIA channel currently has no availability, regardless of the price point.
