ASRock releases Radeon RX 7000 VBIOS updates for 10 Radeon RX 7000 graphics cards
ASRock has released new VBIOS updates for ten Radeon RX 7000 graphics cards, spanning the lineup from the RX 7600 XT to the flagship RX 7900 XTX. The updates, published on October 29, 2026, aim to address security-related concerns.
This move follows a broader industry effort to patch potential security flaws. Earlier this month, other major partners, including Sapphire and Gigabyte, released similar firmware updates. AMD has confirmed that partners are distributing these patches to mitigate vulnerabilities before they are publicly disclosed, allowing users time to update their hardware before details of any potential exploits become widely known.
While the necessity of the update is clear, the technical specifics remain undisclosed. Although Gigabyte referenced AMD security bulletin AMD-SN-6023 in its release notes, the bulletin itself has not yet appeared on AMD's official security website. Consequently, there is currently no public information regarding the exact nature of the vulnerability, its severity, or the specific conditions required to exploit it. AMD has noted, however, that there have been no reported instances of these vulnerabilities being exploited in the wild.
Supported Models
The ASRock support page lists the following models as receiving the ASRVBFlash version 1.0.5 update:
Users are encouraged to check their current firmware version and apply the update via the ASRock support site if applicable. It remains unclear whether version 1.0.5 refers specifically to the flashing utility itself or the version of the firmware being installed on the cards.
