Geek Fam ID Secures First Win at MPL Indonesia Season 18
Geek Fam ID defeated ONIC 2:1 to secure their first victory in the regular season of MPL Indonesia Season 18. The win ended a seven-game losing streak and improved the team's record to 1–7, earning them their first three points in the standings.
ONIC dropped to a 3–5 record with nine points after the loss. The second scheduled match of the day between EVOS and Dewa United Esports was postponed due to a force majeure situation affecting the players of Dewa United Esports. Organizers have not yet announced a new date for the series.
Despite the victory, Geek Fam ID remains in ninth place. Team Liquid ID and Natus Vincere lead the standings with 18 points, followed by Alter Ego and Bigetron by Vitality with 15. EVOS and ONIC both have nine points, while RRQ Hoshi and Dewa United Esports have six each.
MPL Indonesia Season 18 runs from August 14 to November, with teams competing for a prize pool of approximately $273,529 and two spots in the M8 World Championship.
