G2 Esports defeats Movistar KOI to win 2026 LEC Summer Championship
G2 Esports has claimed the LEC 2026 Summer championship after a dominant 3-0 victory over Movistar KOI in the grand final. G2 completed the playoffs without dropping a single series, while Movistar KOI took second place. Both teams have officially qualified for Worlds 2026.
The grand final was a decisive showing from G2 Esports. They took the first map in 27 minutes with a 15:5 scoreline. The second map lasted 31 minutes, ending 21:8 in favor of G2. In the final map, the team closed out the series in 29 minutes with a commanding 13:2 lead.
Labros "Labrov" Papoutsakis stood out in the winning lineup, recording the best average K/D/A of 2.4/0.6/11.3.
G2 Esports maintained a perfect run through the playoffs, previously defeating Team Vitality (3:0) and Karmine Corp (3:1). Movistar KOI reached the finals via the lower bracket, securing wins against Team Vitality, Natus Vincere, and Karmine Corp.
Looking ahead to Worlds 2026, G2 Esports and Movistar KOI will enter the tournament at the Swiss Stage. Karmine Corp, finishing in third place, will begin their campaign in the Play-In stage.
