FURIA defeat BetBoom to claim Thunderpick World Championship 2026 title
FURIA have been crowned champions of the Thunderpick World Championship 2026 after defeating BetBoom in a thrilling grand final. The Brazilian squad triumphed in a full five-map Bo5 series, securing the first trophy of the year for Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo.
The grand final was a true seesaw battle. FURIA took an early lead with a victory on Dust2, but BetBoom fought back to take control of the series by winning both Ancient and Nuke. Facing elimination, the Brazilians rallied on Mirage, securing a narrow 13-11 win led by a standout performance from Kaike "KSCERATO" Cerato to force a decider on Cache.
On the final map, FURIA showed total dominance. After establishing a strong presence on the T-side, they closed out the series 13-6. Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo delivered a crucial performance, recording 14 kills and a +6.87% round swing to seal the championship.
This victory is particularly significant for FalleN. Following his announcement in April that he plans to retire at the end of 2026, this title provides a major milestone in his final season. After falling short at several major events earlier this year, including the IEM Cologne 2026 Major, FURIA have finally secured an S-tier trophy. Their next challenge will be PGL Masters Bucharest 2026, starting on October 24th.
