French streamer maleK passes away at 35
French streamer Malek "maleK" Bennouioua, who built one of the largest audiences in his country, has died at the age of 35. Several community figures shared the news on X on Monday, though the cause of death has not been made public.
maleK began his journey in 2011 with Counter-Strike: Source and became a familiar name on the French second tier during the Counter-Strike: Global Offensive era, most notably playing for beGenius and Epsilon, a lineup that included JACKZ. After winding down his competitive career, he transitioned to full-time content creation. His following grew significantly, reaching over 130,000 subscribers on his main YouTube channel and approximately 155,000 followers on Twitch.
Prominent figures from the scene have paid tribute, including apEX, shox, Neityu, KRL, and Ozstrik3r. shox shared a personal tribute, noting that he had known maleK for 20 years—stretching from their PxL days to a meal they shared just a year ago. He also noted that maleK was a father.
