Intelligent Systems has achieved something remarkable, synthesizing the narrative depth of Three Houses with the polished combat design of Engage. The result is a game that feels like the pinnacle of the franchise—a captivating, high-stakes adventure that serves as a compelling reason to own the Switch 2.
The narrative begins with an apocalyptic prologue where you, acting as a god-like avatar, must rewind time to the Heroic Games of 1449 to unravel the political intrigue of the Dagdan continent. Once the exposition settles, the game reveals its true core: four distinct paths following four protagonists: the loyal queen Theodora, the intelligent foreigner Dietrech, the young Cai, and the vengeful performer Leda. A key design choice is the single save slot, as all stories are intrinsically linked. This forces players to weave through different perspectives, creating an incredibly complex and interconnected web of events.
The combat in Fortune's Weave has reached a new peak. The traditional 'weapon triangle' has been evolved into something much more sophisticated.
