Final Fantasy VII Rebirth Launches on Nintendo Switch 2 and Xbox Series X|S — June 3, 2026
On June 3, 2026, Square Enix launched Final Fantasy VII Rebirth on two new platforms — Nintendo Switch 2 and Xbox Series X|S. It's the first time this acclaimed JRPG has left the PlayStation ecosystem.
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth — the second part of the sprawling FF7 remake trilogy — launched on PS5 in early 2024 to widespread critical acclaim. Now it's available on Switch 2 and Xbox Series X|S at $49.99 USD, $20 less than the original PS5 launch price.
What's New in These Versions
Streamlined Progression — a new mode designed for players who want to enjoy the story without difficult challenges. Features unlimited HP and MP, unlimited ATB and Limit gauges, 9,999 damage cap removal, and easier weapon ability acquisition. Can be toggled on/off at any time.
Xbox Play Anywhere — purchasing the Xbox version grants access on both Xbox Series X|S and Windows PC at no extra cost. Xbox Cloud Gaming is also supported.
Switch 2: Game Key Card and MTG Bonus
The physical Nintendo Switch 2 version ships on a Game Key Card. Limited launch copies include a special Magic: The Gathering card from the Final Fantasy line, featuring exclusive art of Zack Fair by Tetsuya Nomura.
