Fading Echo launches on PlayStation 5 today
The fast-paced elemental action-adventure RPG Fading Echo is officially launching today on PlayStation 5. Developed by Emeteria, the studio behind New Tales, the game focuses on high-speed combat and environmental manipulation.
Set in the fractured world of Corel, the story follows One, a young Legend fighting to halt the spread of a mysterious force known as the Paradox. To save her world from being consumed, One must confront Maddock, the ruthless leader of the Paradox corruption.

At the core of the gameplay is the manipulation of Æther. Players can use this elemental energy to transform One into a living liquid form, enabling unique movement mechanics such as surfing through pipes, squeezing through narrow cracks, or launching oneself across the environment. In combat, Æther acts as a catalyst for environmental reactions; when combined with elements like lava or toxic waste, it triggers chain reactions that can turn the tide of battle.

The game also features a reality-shifting mechanic. Because the Paradox has fractured Corel into multiple versions of the same space, players can shift between these alternate realities. This system is integrated into exploration and puzzles—where a blocked path in one reality might be accessible in another—as well as combat, where shifting can change the available resources and hazards on the battlefield.

While Fading Echo is a single-player experience, One will be accompanied by a group of allies, each with their own ties to the decaying world. For those looking to try the game before committing, a demo is also available today on PlayStation 5.
