Euro Truck Simulator 2: 1.62 Open Beta

A major focus of the 1.62 update is the introduction of new garage models across the base map and all map DLCs. These refreshed garages feature updated interior and exterior visuals designed to feel more modern and immersive. SCS Software noted that significant effort went into balancing these enhanced visuals with performance to ensure they remain efficient compared to the previous models.

The Improved Material System is also expanding. The Iveco S-Way is the latest addition to this system, receiving enhanced lighting effects and improved visual quality, specifically regarding how interior materials react to light.

Customization enthusiasts will see three new editions of the DAF XG+:

• Emerald Edition and Sapphire Edition, featuring distinctive green and blue paint jobs, exclusive exterior accessories, and custom interiors.
• 30 Years in Czechia Edition, a special anniversary design celebrating three decades of DAF in the Czech Republic, complete with unique exterior details and specific upholstery stitching.

Additionally, the Goodyear Tyres Pack will receive a branding update to align its paint jobs with the company's current logo and colors. For content creators, the Escape station in the in-game radio is getting an update; it will feature 11 new songs and a curated playlist of copyright-safe tracks to ensure longer, stream-friendly playback.

As this is an open beta and not a stable release, players may encounter bugs or instability. To participate, users can switch to the public_beta branch via the properties menu in Steam.
