Dplus KIA defeats KT Rolster and claims readiness for Worlds
During the fourth round of the LCK 2026 Season group stage, Dplus KIA secured a decisive victory against KT Rolster. The match concluded with a 2-0 scoreline in favor of the visitors, who improved their standing in the tournament table to fourth place. Following this encounter, head coach Kim Daeho of DPL commented on the result and shared his views on the team's prospects for Worlds.
The match took place on August 12 in Seoul at the Grand Seoul LoPark Arena. Team Dplus KIA, with a record of 15 wins and 8 losses (+10), maintained their lead over the opponent, who had an identical balance of matches (+9). The victory allowed DPL to secure fourth place in the Legends group.
Head coach Kim Daeho of Dplus KIA expressed satisfaction with the result after the match. He noted that the first map was deserved due to the players' efforts, while in the second game, the team opted for a more cautious strategy with fixed bans, anticipating potential retaliation later. "We did not consider this choice the best option, but it became our forced strategy," the coach added.
Kim Daeho emphasized that the players demonstrated high concentration and correct decisions at critical moments of the match. "I saw how they play well, and this confirms our readiness for major tournaments," he added. The head coach also stressed the importance of stable form and the need to work on mistakes during periods of declining results.
In the upcoming match, Dplus KIA will face T1. Kim Daeho acknowledged his opponent as one of the strongest squads and promised to approach the game with full responsibility. "This is indeed an important match that we will work on," he stated.
