Double Fine Announces Thank You Bus Driver for PC
Double Fine Productions has announced Thank You Bus Driver, a chaotic bus driving game set to launch on PC. The title will be available on Steam, GOG, Humble Store, and itch.io, though a specific release date has not yet been confirmed.
The game casts players as a town bus driver attempting to survive the daily commute with minimal rule-breaking and maximum gratitude. The core loop revolves around managing three distinct priorities while navigating the road.

First, players must deal with rule-breaking. The game features a dynamic rule system where regulations change daily and new ones are added by the depot. Players can physically slap rule-breakers to assert control or revoke the bus privileges of repeat offenders by ejecting them through the back door.

Second, the focus is on staying on track. Reaching the next stop is the primary objective, which may require pulling up a map mid-turn or taking shortcuts through cornfields. Avoiding pedestrians, oncoming traffic, or obstacles is described as optional, provided passengers do not become upset before arrival.

Third, players must adhere to a strict schedule. Time is the primary resource, and it is replenished by collecting "Thank Yous" from happy riders. Accumulating these tokens allows players to unlock additional bus accessories, town variants, and other content. The announcement was made during PAX West 2026, where an announcement trailer and initial screenshots were shared.
