Cyberpunk 2077 update 2.5 nets native Nvidia DLSS 4.5 and new dynamic frame generation tech

With the upcoming 2.5 update for Cyberpunk 2077, players will no longer need to rely on Nvidia App overrides to access the latest features; the game will support the newest "Nvidia" DLSS 4.5 models out of the box.

Upgrading Night City's Visuals

CD Projekt Red is set to bring Cyberpunk 2077 up to speed with the latest upscaling and ray tracing technologies. The patch will integrate the latest DLSS 4.5 models, including Super Resolution, Ray Reconstruction, and an updated ray tracing denoiser, ensuring the game utilizes the most recent AI-driven enhancements by default.

The standout addition is the introduction of dynamic multi frame generation. This technology allows the system to vary the interpolation multiplier—typically ranging from 2x to 6x—based on the player's current frame rate relative to their target. This means if you are aiming for 360 FPS, the system could dynamically switch from 6x frame generation at 60 FPS to 4x at 90 FPS on the fly, maintaining a smoother experience without manual intervention.

What to Expect

While the full scope of the 2.5 update remains unconfirmed, it is expected to include more than just technical tweaks. Given the recent release of the new Edgerunners anime season, content-related tie-ins are a strong possibility.

While these upgrades focus on the Nvidia ecosystem, the community remains hopeful for similar refreshes for AMD FSR (such as Ray Regeneration) and "Intel" XeSS 3. However, for now, the priority is the seamless, native integration of DLSS 4.5. The update is expected to roll out on October 22.
