Control Resonant's 1.4.0 update adds New Game++ and fixes bugs
Remedy has officially rolled out a significant update, version 1.4.0, for their trippy hack-and-slash sequel Control Resonant. The patch introduces the long-awaited New Game++ mode and brings a wide array of quality-of-life tweaks and bug fixes to the title.
A major focus of the update is improving player navigation through the game's overlapping upgrade systems. The overall build power rating is now prominently displayed on the main Loadout screen rather than being tucked away in the Stats & Effects submenu. Additionally, players can now tag specific upgrade materials as priorities, which will cause them to appear when highlighting vendor markers on the map, provided the vendor has the items in stock.
The update also includes performance optimizations for low-end hardware and addresses several notable bugs. These range from a new toggle to mute copyrighted music during the opening credits to a fix for a glitch where fast-travel doors in the starting area would forcibly reset a player's custom outfit to the default post-game attire.
This release follows a launch-day patch that adjusted combat balance to make enemies feel more substantial. By increasing transparency around leveling and upgrades, the 1.4.0 update aims to make Control Resonant more accessible without compromising its signature, aggressive combat style.
