Colorful launches water-cooled laptop with GeForce RTX 5060
Colorful has introduced the P16 Pro Starwind Water-Cooled Edition 2026, its first gaming laptop designed specifically for use with an external liquid-cooling dock. The system is powered by an Intel Core Ultra 7 251HX processor and a Nvidia GeForce RTX 5060 Laptop GPU. Sales in China are scheduled to begin on August 28.
Specifications and Cooling System Details
The laptop features a 16-inch IPS display with a 2560×1600 resolution, 300 Hz refresh rate, 500-nit brightness, and 100% sRGB coverage. It is equipped with 16 GB of DDR5-5600 memory and a 1 TB PCIe 4.0 SSD. The battery capacity is listed at 60 Wh, powered by a 280 W GaN adapter. The chassis measures 19.9 mm in thickness and weighs 2.05 kg.
The cooling architecture combines two fans and five heat pipes with an integrated liquid-cooling loop. Colorful claims up to 150W of combined performance using air cooling alone. Connecting the dedicated Starwind S1 dock allows coolant to circulate through the notebook while internal fans operate at lower speeds.
Manufacturer and ODM Context: Previous air-cooled P16 Pro models appear to have been manufactured by Clevo. While direct confirmation for the water-cooled version is unavailable, most gaming laptops utilizing external liquid-cooling systems are typically based on platforms from Tongfang, which also supplies brands like XMG, Eluktronics, and Dream Machines.
Pricing and Availability: Colorful lists the P16 Pro Starwind Water-Cooled Edition at approximately $1,710 USD. Sales are scheduled to begin in China on August 28. The practical necessity of water cooling for an RTX 5060-based laptop remains a matter of debate.
