Camping System in World of Warcraft: Forever
In the upcoming World of Warcraft: Forever, simple campfires are set to become more than just cooking spots. Blizzard has unveiled a new camping system that transforms a basic fire into a shared campsite where players can rest and benefit from profession-made features.
The system expands the Cooking profession, allowing players to establish a Basic Campfire. This campfire acts as a hub for a shared campsite where nearby players can gather. A single camp can support up to three specialized objects contributed by different players. To reap the benefits of these camp features, players must sit or craft at the campsite for at least one minute.
Each profession provides unique utility, offering variants of class-specific buffs. For instance, Blacksmiths can place a Sharpening Wheel to increase Strength, while Tailors can set up a Faction Banner to boost Spirit. Key profession features include:
- First Aid: First Aid Kit (increased Stamina);
- Fishing: Fishing Bowl (increased stats);
- Alchemy: Mana Well (mana regeneration);
- Blacksmithing: Sharpening Wheel (increased Strength);
- Enchanting: Enchanted Lute (Armor and stats);
- Engineering: Reagent Bot (purchase reagents);
- Herbalism: Incense Candle (increased Intellect);
- Leatherworking: Camp Tent (increased Rested XP);
- Skinning: Camp Chair (increased critical strike chance);
- Tailoring: Faction Banner (increased Spirit).
Progression is tied to profession skill levels. While starter items can be obtained through early quests or trainers once a skill reaches level 20, higher-level recipes (skill 140+) will be found as drops in dungeons and raids. As Cooking skill increases, players can eventually host up to 10 objects at a single camp, and other professions will unlock additional conveniences like Alchemy Laboratories or Tanning Racks.
Blizzard intends for this system to encourage a more social and relaxed playstyle, allowing adventurers to linger and connect rather than rushing through Azeroth. However, players should remain cautious in PvP environments, as camps can be discovered by enemies.
