Blizzard Entertainment: Hotfixes for World of Warcraft on August 19, 2026

Blizzard Entertainment has published a comprehensive list of hotfixes for World of Warcraft, effective August 19, 2026. The patches cover multiple game modes, including Midnight, Mists of Pandaria Classic, Burning Crusade Classic, WoW Classic Era, and Hardcore. Developers have addressed critical bugs affecting class mechanics, raid encounters, and quest progression.

Class Fixes

In Death Knight, an issue causing the "Army of the Dead: Epidemic Orders" to cast from the Death Knight instead of the Lesser Ghoul has been resolved. For the Unholy specialization, fixes address the activation chance for "Forbidden Knowledge Rank 4" when the Dread Plague target has a damage absorb effect, and ensure "Transfusion" empowers already summoned Lesser Ghouls. Additionally, "Lord of the Dead" no longer experiences casting delays, and "Dark Simulacrum" is now trackable via the Cooldown Manager.

For Druid (Restoration), an issue where "Rejuvenation" could be prematurely removed if the player gained or lost haste while active has been fixed. In Hunter (Marksmanship), "Rapid Fire" now fires the intended number of shots when hitting a second target with the "Aspect of the Hydra" talent.

In Paladin (Retribution), the issue preventing "Avenging Wrath" from applying after casting "Wake of Ashes" while silenced has been corrected. For Shaman (Restoration), the "Whirling Water" effect in Totemic specialization is now functioning properly.

Raids and Dungeons

In The Blinding Vale, Death Knights can now cast "Consumption" after being picked up by "Bloodthirsty Gaze." In Ruby Life Pools, the boss "Kyrakka and Erkhart Stormvein" no longer targets unexpected players with "Stormslam."

In Temple of Sethraliss, "Spark Channeler" will no longer turn unexpectedly, and "Static Anomaly" creatures now contribute correctly to the enemy forces count. In The Venomous Abyss, the door to "The Twin Fangs" room will reopen after engaging combat, allowing players to backtrack. Fixes also address issues with bosses like "Nek'zali the Soulcaller" leashing near the entrance and "Vashnik, The Malignant" evading after spawning.

Items and Quests

The weapon Aman'muso, Warlord's Vengeance is once again restricted to the main-hand slot only. Developers note that a recent change to this weapon was more disruptive than anticipated and resulted in adverse incentives for certain specializations. This does not impact Zatha'tek, Breath of Corruption.

In PvP, "Conqueror's Venomous Lacquer" now correctly adds PvP item level to tier shoulders when used. Players above level 80 can once again complete the "Step Into the Light" quest. A UI typo in the weekly quest "Midnight: Vaults of Atal'Utek," which incorrectly suggested a reward of two Sparks of Tide, has been fixed. Additionally, an issue preventing completion of "Purging the Vaults" or "Vaults of Atal'Utek: A Toxic Tour" quests if players already had "Trophhunter's Bounty" in their inventory has been resolved.
