Black Ops 7 Season 05 Guide: Where to Start on July 23

Update First

Season 05 begins July 23 at 9 AM PT. Install the update and confirm that the selected activity belongs to the launch build.

Some roadmap items are marked Mid-Season. Widow’s Wine, Fully Packed, and the Zombies story conclusion are not launch-day content.

Endgame: Burn Run

Burn Run uses a bomb-rigged vehicle and thirty flaming arches. Hitting Fear enemies and objects adds time, while repair wrenches and speed boosts sustain the car.

Use the first attempt to learn the route rather than maximize targets. Extra seconds are safer after the turns are familiar.

Finding Ability Boosts

Exotic Ability Boosts enhance Major and Minor Abilities. They are primarily found in Nightmare locations, with a smaller chance in Zone IV.

Check activity rewards on the Tac Map. A Boost follows the equipped ability and remains until a wipe or ability swap.

Launch Multiplayer

Jubilee is a new 6v6 map with a long Main Street and tighter side routes. Frequency and Dig return as remasters.

Play one match on each before chasing seasonal tasks, learning elevation, safe transitions, and common contact points.

Zombies: Eidskallen Lighthouse

Launch brings the Eidskallen Lighthouse Survival map, Kowakujō Directed Mode and Starting Room, plus Rogue Run: Astra Malorum.

Choose one mode for the first long session. Learning a map, objectives, and weapons simultaneously makes failure harder to diagnose.

Warzone and Drone Labs

Drone Labs is a new Verdansk POI. Old routes are not automatically safe because player traffic changes nearby transitions and encounter timing.

Learn entrances and exits before committing to control the center. A few matches reveal whether the location suits the squad.

A Short Launch Plan

Try Burn Run once, inspect Ability Boost rewards, play Jubilee, then choose Eidskallen Lighthouse or Drone Labs.

That order samples four pillars without skimming every menu and leaves time to continue the mode with the clearest goal.

Before the Season Goes Live

Update the game first and confirm which Multiplayer, Zombies, and Warzone packs are installed. A major seasonal patch may need working space in addition to download size. Save current weapon classes as well: balance changes can weaken an old setup, while a copy makes comparison easier.

Do not spend every token or resource before reviewing the new Battle Pass and Weekly Challenges. The FG42 and Gremlin are Battle Pass launch weapons, while the Mammoth LMG and Mace follow event or weekly paths. Choose one immediate unlock goal before dividing your time.

A Practical Endgame Order

Learn Burn Run after a short standard deployment to refresh vehicle handling and verify equipment. Destroying enemies and objects adds time, while thirty flaming arches mark the course. Do not stop for every target: maintaining speed matters more than completely clearing one section.

Ability Boosts correspond to equipped Major and Minor Abilities and remain until a squad wipe or an ability swap. Nightmare locations are the primary source, with a smaller Zone IV chance. Check the Tac Map reward list before accepting a dangerous activity so that risk serves the build you are actually using.

Dividing Time in Zombies

Eidskallen Lighthouse is a Survival map using a confined portion of Totenreich and round milestones. A first attempt should establish movement loops, purchase points, and a recovery route rather than chase a record immediately. Consistency earns more than one reckless acceleration.

Kowakujō receives Directed Mode for the Main Quest and a Starting Room variant in the Outer Ward. Directed Mode is the clearer introduction to objectives; Starting Room provides a compact survival test with whatever is available. Leave Rogue Run: Astra Malorum until the basic upgrade logic is familiar.

Multiplayer and Warzone Without the Rush

Begin Multiplayer with Jubilee because its sightlines and distances are new, while Dig and Frequency restore known structures. Use early matches to learn spawns and safe transitions instead of declaring a final weapon tier list. Balance changes and initial fixes can still alter practical loadout value.

In Warzone, Drone Labs sits south of Quarry and uses large L-shaped buildings for administrative and research spaces. Learn entrances and exits before trying to own the center. Juggernaut Armor and new drones change local fights, but positioning and information remain more important than novelty.
