Beats 360 Flagship Packs 1.75x Better ANC And A 32-Hour Battery For $350
Apple-owned Beats has unveiled the Beats 360, a new flagship set of over-ear wireless headphones priced at $349.99. Positioned above the Studio Pro in the brand’s lineup, these headphones aim directly at high-end competitors like Bose's QuietComfort Ultra 2nd Gen and Sony's WH-1000XM6, introducing a modular design alongside upgraded internal hardware.
Modular Design and Customization
The standout feature of the Beats 360 is its modular cushion system, a first for the brand. Users can swap out both the headband padding and the ear cushions using magnetically aligned, snap-in attachments. Beats offers replacement kits in two material types: Performance Knit (plush memory foam wrapped in breathable knit, available in Black, Cloud, Pink, Sky, Navy, and Volt) and UltraPlus (seamless engineered leather, available in Black, Cloud, Pink, and Sky).
Acoustics and ANC Improvements
The internal hardware has seen a major boost. The active noise cancellation (ANC) system is powered by eight microphones (out of nine total in the device). Beats claims this implementation is 1.75x more powerful than the ANC found in the Beats Studio Pro. The acoustic architecture features custom-designed, dual-magnet 40mm dynamic drivers with sensitive three-layer diaphragms, paired with a custom high-dynamic-range amplifier.
Additional features include support for Spatial Audio with dynamic head tracking (similar to AirPods Max 2), Dolby Atmos, adaptive EQ, and built-in accelerometers and gyroscopes in the left earcup for head movement tracking. Notably, these are the first over-ear Beats headphones to feature an IPX4 rating for sweat and water resistance.
Battery Life and Availability
The headphones deliver up to 32 hours of playback. This metric is achievable either with Adaptive EQ enabled while ANC and Transparency mode are off, or with both ANC and Spatial Audio active. A quick 5-minute charge via USB-C provides approximately one hour of playback.
