Atelier Karia: The Night Kingdom & the Guide of Memories launches February 25, 2027
Atelier Karia: The Night Kingdom & the Guide of Memories is set to launch on February 25, 2027, according to a joint announcement from publisher Koei Tecmo Games and developer Gust. The title arrives across multiple platforms, including PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam.
The adventure takes place two years after the events of Atelier Yumia, continuing the saga with a new protagonist. Players will follow amnesiac alchemist Karia and her companions—Servio Lektor, Fina Rozen, and fellow alchemist Yumia Liessfeldt—on a quest of discovery within the mysterious underworld of Aladiss.
Combat Styles and Elemental Mechanics
The game introduces a dynamic combat system where players can switch between styles to adapt to different situations. Over eight distinct styles will be accessible throughout the journey, unlocked by progressing through the main story or consuming specific meals. Two notable examples include Ignis Style, which allows Karia to channel fire, boosting attack power and imbuing skills with fire damage at the cost of defense and increased vulnerability to ice attacks, and Mermaid Style, which focuses on ice magic, increasing magical damage while reducing physical attack and making her weak to fire.

Exploration is expanded through Interactive Field Actions. Players can utilize elemental items—Flamme (fire), Lehrune (ice), Plajig (electricity), and Luft (air)—to activate gimmicks in the environment. These items can be thrown to gather ingredients from a distance, destroy obstacles, or break through barriers by activating specific environmental responses.
Colossal Enemies and Team Coordination
Encounters with colossal enemies require strategic coordination between two phases: the Frontline Team Phase and the Assault Team Phase. During the Frontline phase, players engage the enemy directly. In the Assault phase, they must support their allies by utilizing structures around the map, such as shelters, sonic cannons, and item launchers. Completing primary and secondary objectives helps deplete the enemy's morale gauge; ignoring secondary objectives will benefit the enemy, so careful prioritization is key to victory.

Alchemy and Synthesis
The alchemy system has been renovated for this title. Players will use a synthesis map to connect mana pieces of ingredients, creating patterns set by the recipe's ingredients to unlock certain effects. Each ingredient can have several different piece shapes with unique effects, enabling players to experiment with combinations to find the most effective results or even change the item entirely if certain conditions are met.

Editions and Pricing
The game will be available in physical and digital editions. Physical releases include a Standard Edition containing just the game, and a Premium Box which includes an art book, extra music tracks, nine A4-size water-repellent posters, and an early distribution download code for Karia's "Pioneering Team’s Head Chef" costume. In Japan, the Premium Box is priced at 13,530 yen, while a Special Premium Box edition will be available for 23,650 yen.

Digital editions include a Standard Edition and a Digital Deluxe Edition, though details for the latter are yet to be announced. Pre-ordering the standard edition grants everyone the early purchase bonus "Noctrem Pioneering Preparation Set," which includes a special costume for Karia and the exclusive Training Badge equipment.
