ASUS launches ROG Xbox Ally X20 with OLED and Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme
ASUS has officially launched the ROG Xbox Ally X20, marking the company's 20th anniversary. The new handheld introduces significant hardware upgrades, most notably a high-end display and a next-generation processor.
Hardware and Design Upgrades
The core of the ROG Xbox Ally X20 is the AMD Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme processor. Visually, the device moves toward a premium aesthetic with a translucent black shell accented with gold. The display is a 7.4-inch OLED Nebula HDR panel that supports variable refresh rate (VRR) for smoother gameplay.

On the thermal side, ASUS has implemented a slightly larger heatsink and revised the internal layout to improve airflow. The input system has also seen refinements, including magnetic TMR joysticks, flush-mounted face buttons, Haptic Impulse triggers, and a D-pad capable of switching between four-way and eight-way modes.
Software and Bundles
The device runs on Armory Crate Special Edition, which introduces Default Game Profile 2.0 for quick wattage adjustments and a Travel Mode that caps charging at 65W. Users can also toggle between Native and Vivid HDR profiles and customize shortcut keys.

For enthusiasts looking for an augmented reality experience, a bundle is available. It includes the ROG XREAL R1 Edition 2 AR glasses—featuring a 240Hz micro-OLED panel and a 57-degree field of view—alongside a dbrand Killswitch case and a Pelican hard case.
The ROG Xbox Ally X20 is priced at $1,299, while the full AR bundle is available for $2,499. Earlier models, such as the standard ROG Xbox Ally and Ally X, remain available for purchase.
