ASUS Unveils ROG Rapture GT-BN98 Gaming Router with Wi-Fi 8 Support
ASUS has introduced the ROG Rapture GT-BN98, a gaming router designed to leverage the emerging Wi-Fi 8 (draft) standard. Aimed at high-end enthusiasts, the device focuses on maximizing throughput and minimizing latency across multiple frequency bands.
The standout feature of the ROG Rapture GT-BN98 is its compliance with the Wi-Fi 8 (draft) standard. By utilizing the 6GHz band with a 320MHz channel width and 4096-QAM modulation, the router can achieve theoretical speeds of up to 11,529 Mbps. The hardware is powered by a 2.6GHz quad-core CPU and features eight external antennas to ensure robust coverage.
To enhance gaming performance, ASUS has implemented the AI Game Boost suite. This includes device optimization for automatic detection and prioritization of gaming hardware, Adaptive QoE for dynamic bandwidth allocation based on network conditions, and GTNet technology, which selects the fastest path to game servers.

Connectivity and Interface Options
The router is equipped with a comprehensive array of high-speed ports: one 10Gbps WAN/LAN port, one 2.5Gbps WAN/LAN port, and a dedicated 10Gbps gaming LAN port that prioritizes gaming traffic out of the box. Additionally, it features three 2.5Gbps LAN ports, one 1Gbps LAN port, and two USB ports (USB 3.2 Gen1 and USB 2.0). The device supports link aggregation up to 20Gbps and features automatic multi-WAN detection.

The ROG Rapture GT-BN98 will be available exclusively via Amazon.co.jp for 180,728 yen. The unit measures 350.41 × 350.41 × 220.60 mm (including antennas) and weighs approximately 2.07 kg.
