ASUS ProArt GR1X: Compact Workstations Powered by RTX Spark
Mini PCs have historically been forced to trade graphical power for a smaller footprint, but ASUS aims to break that compromise with the ProArt GR1X. This compact desktop system is built around the new NVIDIA RTX Spark platform, targeting both AI developers and high-end gamers.
Architecture and Performance
Measuring just 1.1 liters (150×150×51mm), the ProArt GR1X utilizes an RTX Spark chip that pairs an ultra-efficient "Grace" CPU with a Blackwell-based GPU. These components are linked via NVIDIA's NVLink-C2C interconnect technology. The entire system operates within a modest 140W TDP envelope.

While ASUS primarily positions the ProArt GR1X as a localized workstation for AI developers running large language models (LLMs) and content creators handling complex 3D rendering, they are also leaning heavily into the gaming market. ASUS claims the system can achieve over 100 FPS in AAA titles at 1440p. Given the Blackwell architecture, the system supports DLSS Multi-Frame Generation, hardware-accelerated ray tracing, and NVIDIA Reflex. It is highly likely that the 100+ FPS claim relies on DLSS upscaling.
The GPU features 6,144 shader cores, matching the specifications of a desktop GeForce RTX 5070. To support demanding multi-threaded workloads and massive local datasets, the system can be configured with up to 128GB of LPDDR5X (with 64GB options available). A key advantage for AI and rendering is that the CPU and GPU share the same memory pool, enabling the handling of 3D rendering scenes up to 90GB.
Connectivity and Availability
The ProArt GR1X features modern wireless standards, including Wi-Fi 7 (2x2) and Bluetooth 5.4. The rear I/O selection includes:
- 1x USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 Type-C (with Power Delivery);
- 1x HDMI 2.1;
- 1x 10Gbps LAN;
- 1x Kensington Lock slot.
The front panel is minimalist, containing only the power button and an LED indicator. ASUS has not yet announced the pricing or official release date for the ProArt GR1X, though interested users can sign up for availability notifications.
