Tandem-WOLED, True Black 500, and Dual-Hz: ASRock Unveils TCO27QXB
ASRock has introduced the TCO27QXB, a new gaming monitor powered by Tandem-WOLED technology. The device is designed for high-performance gaming, featuring a unique Dual-Hz mode that caters to different competitive needs.
Tandem-WOLED and Dual-Hz Functionality
The standout feature of the TCO27QXB is its Dual-Hz capability. Users can switch between a native WQHD (2560 x 1440) resolution at up to 540 Hz and a much lower HD resolution (1280 x 720) that reaches 720 Hz. While the latter offers extreme refresh rates, it comes with a significant reduction in visual clarity.
The panel is DisplayHDR True Black 500 certified. Technical specifications indicate a peak brightness of 335 cd/m² in SDR (at 100% APL) and 1,500 cd/m² in HDR (at 3% APL). It boasts a 1,500,000:1 contrast ratio, 10-bit color depth, 99% DCI-P3 coverage, and a 0.03 ms (GtG) response time.
Connectivity and Advanced Features
Breaking away from the standard DisplayPort 1.4 found on many competitors, ASRock has equipped the TCO27QXB with two DisplayPort 2.1 ports supporting 80 Gbps (UHBR20). The connectivity suite also includes two HDMI 2.1 ports (48 Gbps), a USB-C port with DisplayPort Alt Mode and 65W Power Delivery (PD), and a USB 3.2 Gen 1 hub. A built-in KVM switch allows users to control multiple devices with a single keyboard and mouse.
Additional features include integrated 3W speakers, FreeSync Premium Pro support, and an adjustable stand offering height adjustment (up to 130 mm), tilt, and pivot functions. The monitor is VESA compliant (75 x 75 mm). While specific release dates and pricing are not yet confirmed, industry estimates suggest a starting price around €800. Notably, ASRock has not yet provided details regarding OLED burn-in warranty coverage.
