ASRock DeskSlim packs 125W desktop CPUs and discrete GPUs into a 5L PC
ASRock has unveiled its new DeskSlim compact systems, the X600 and B760 models. These 5-liter PCs are designed to retain several key features typically reserved for much larger desktop towers, moving away from the limitations of mobile-based Mini PCs.
While most Mini PCs in this size category rely on soldered mobile processors and SO-DIMM memory, the DeskSlim series takes a different approach. Both models feature four standard DDR5 DIMM slots, supporting up to 256GB of memory with advertised overclocked speeds of 7200+ MHz. This architecture allows for significantly higher memory capacity and flexibility than standard small-form-factor systems.
The DeskSlim X600 is built on the AMD AM5 socket, supporting Ryzen 9000, 8000, and 7000 series processors with a CPU power limit of up to 120W. The DeskSlim B760 utilizes the Intel LGA1700 socket, accommodating 12th, 13th, and 14th Gen Core processors with support for up to 125W CPUs.
A standout feature is the inclusion of a full-length PCIe 5.0 x16 slot for discrete graphics. However, users must adhere to strict physical constraints: the chassis supports only low-profile, dual-slot cards up to 200 mm in length, 70 mm in height, and 38 mm in thickness. ASRock has explicitly confirmed compatibility with NVIDIA RTX PRO 4000 Blackwell SFF Edition and RTX PRO 2000 Blackwell cards.
By enabling discrete GPU installation, ASRock positions the DeskSlim as a versatile platform suitable for gaming, workstation tasks, or local AI workloads. The company even provides instructions for installing SteamOS to cater to the gaming market. To maintain the compact 5L volume, the power supply is external, with the systems utilizing either 240W or 330W external adapters.
The DeskSlim X600 and B760 are currently available through ASRock's global distribution network, though regional availability may vary.
