Arknights: Endfield ‘Sanctuary of Ink’ update launches October 15 alongside Steam release
A major milestone is approaching for Arknights: Endfield. Publisher GRYPHLINE and developer Mountain Contour have announced that the “Sanctuary of Ink” version update will launch on October 15. This rollout will coincide with the game's release on Steam, bringing the 3D real-time strategy RPG to a new community of PC players with cross-platform progression enabled.
The “Sanctuary of Ink” update introduces a new narrative chapter set within a landscape painting created by the Feranmut Proxy, Si. Players will step into a world of living ink where brushstrokes can restore broken paths and reveal the Endministrator’s past. Through Si’s magical brush, players can create bridges across gaps and interact with creatures formed from objects within the painted world.
Two new playable Operators will join the roster: Si and Argent Flow. Si utilizes her artistry on the battlefield by drawing an Inksoul from enemies to transfer damage and effects, while also providing buffs to Cryo and Heat teammates. Argent Flow features a combat style combining sword and spear techniques with mounted charges on his warhorse, Nuli.
The update also includes several significant gameplay and quality-of-life improvements:
- Contingency Contract: Returns with the Indigo Experimental Operation, introducing selectable modifiers that grant tactical advantages alongside new enemy attack patterns.
- Farming Mechanics: Players can manage a countryside inn at Yuanyuan Manor Inn, growing crops and raising animals to serve guests and expand the farm.
- Quality of Life: New features include saved equipment loadouts, more precise mouse targeting, and the ability to place field equipment directly from the depot.
The update's soundtrack features a diverse musical palette, including contributions from Zhai Jinyan (Black Myth: Wukong), Ludvig Forssell (Death Stranding), the electronic band 8:48, and musician Crywolf.
