AOC unveils world-first 5K Nvidia G-Sync Pulsar gaming monitor
AOC has announced the world's first gaming monitor to combine a 5K resolution panel with Nvidia G-Sync Pulsar technology. The new AOC Agon Pro AGP327KG was revealed during Gamescom 2026, marking a significant shift from previous models that prioritized high refresh rates over pixel density.
The monitor features a massive 31.5-inch display with a native resolution of 5120×2880 pixels. This configuration delivers an impressive 186 pixels per inch (PPI), offering a sharpness increase of 33% compared to standard 4K screens of the same size and a substantial 68% improvement over existing QHD G-Sync Pulsar monitors.
While the refresh rate is capped at 144Hz—lower than the 360Hz found in current QHD models—the inclusion of Nvidia's strobing technology aims to compensate. This feature theoretically quadruples motion clarity, creating an experience that can feel closer to 600Hz while maintaining variable refresh rate support.
At this stage, neither AOC nor Nvidia has confirmed pricing or release dates for the AGP327KG. However, given that current QHD/360Hz G-Sync Pulsar monitors like the Agon Pro AG276QSG2 start around £550, industry observers expect this 5K variant to command a premium price, potentially reaching the £800+ range.
The review team has noted that while the resolution and strobing capabilities are groundbreaking, there is hope for improvements in colour gamut and accuracy. Previous models using similar panels have been criticized for lagging behind in these specific areas compared to OLED alternatives.
