Anbernic RG DDS: Price and full specifications revealed
Following recent teaser videos, Anbernic has officially opened pre-orders for its dual-screen handheld, the RG DDS (Dream Dual-Screen). The manufacturer from Shenzhen has also confirmed that shipments are scheduled to begin on December 10, 2026.
Design and Displays: A Nod to the 3DS
The RG DDS features a design heavily inspired by the New Nintendo 3DS. It is equipped with two IPS displays, both reaching a peak brightness of 500 nits. The top 4.7-inch screen has a resolution of 1200 × 720 pixels (5:3 aspect ratio), while the bottom 4-inch screen offers 960 × 720 pixels (4:3). Notably, both resolutions correspond to a 3x integer scaling of the original Nintendo 3DS resolutions, aiming for optimal clarity during emulation.

The device will be available in three colors: Glacier White, Basalt Black, and Phantom Blue.
Hardware and AI Features
Under the hood, the handheld is powered by the 4nm Qualcomm Snapdragon G2 Gen 2 chipset with an Adreno A22 GPU, running on Android 16. To manage thermals, Anbernic has included an active cooling solution consisting of a fan and a heatpipe.

Key technical highlights include:
- Dual high-fidelity stereo speakers with DSP audio;
- USB-C port supporting 1080p video output to external monitors;
- A dedicated AI button for real-time translation, AI-assisted dialogue, and image generation/editing;
- A 6-axis gyroscope and capacitive joysticks;
- An included retractable stylus.
