Meet the New Skyborne in World of Warcraft: Forever

The story of the Skyborne is rooted in a crisis within the elemental plane of Skywall. Thousands of years ago, a group of Highborne exiles forged a pact with elemental wind spirits to build a civilization. Now, with the air spirits having vanished, the Skyborne face a fractured future. This serves as a new level 1–12 starting experience, blending classic Warcraft aesthetics with unique elemental architecture.

Faction alignment is determined at character creation and significantly impacts gameplay. Windshaper Skyborne, aligned with the Horde, embrace elemental traditions and gain access to the Shaman class. Conversely, High Order Skyborne of the Alliance focus on reclaiming their ancestors' arcane legacy, granting them access to the Mage class. Both factions can also play as Druid, Hunter, Rogue, or Warrior, with specialized Skyborne druid forms designed specifically for the race.

The racial abilities reflect these distinct paths:

• Windshaper (Horde): features the Walk on Air ability for 10-second gliding, alongside Wind Blessed (1% Haste) and Elemental Insight (5% increased damage to Elementals) passives.
• High Order (Alliance): also features gliding, but adds Read Ley Line, which provides 100% Health and Mana regeneration. Their passive Haste and elemental damage bonuses match the Horde version.

Customization options for the Skyborne are extensive. Players can choose from various body types, dozens of hairstyles, skin tones ranging from sky blue to peach, and various eye and facial features. Specific tattoos, such as Zephyr and Wayfinder, and unique feather colors for hair are also available. Players can also change their appearance at barbershops using in-game currency. To celebrate victories, the Skyborne also come with a unique /dance emote.
