World of Warcraft Hotfixes: September 1, 2026

Blizzard Entertainment released a substantial hotfix for World of Warcraft: Midnight on September 1, 2026, addressing balance issues across multiple classes, dungeons, raids, and PvP. The update includes significant damage adjustments for Frost Death Knights and Feral Druids, while also introducing targeted buffs and nerfs to healers and tanks to improve combat pacing. Additionally, the patch resolves several bugs in The Venomous Abyss and Tidebound Grotto, and adjusts the Gladiator’s Distinction set bonus to reduce excessive healing in PvP encounters.

The hotfix list begins with class-specific changes aimed at improving performance in single-target and cleave scenarios. Frost Death Knights received a 15% damage increase to Howling Blast and Obliterate, along with a 20% boost to Frost Strike and a 10% increase to overall melee damage. Unholy Death Knights saw a fix ensuring that Mastery: Dreadblade and Foul Infections correctly increase the critical strike chance of Plague Erupt effects.

Demon Hunters also received notable adjustments. Havoc Demon Hunters gained a 4% increase to all damage, excluding PvP combat. For "Vengeance" Demon Hunters, Demonic Wards now reduces damage taken by 15% instead of 12%, and Void Reaver causes Frailty to reduce damage taken by 6% instead of 5%. Additionally, Fel Devastation healing was increased by 25% to better support recovery as maximum health pools have grown.

Druids saw changes across multiple specializations. Balance Druids received a 4% increase to all ability damage, excluding PvP. Feral Druids, noted for performing below expectations in raid encounters, gained a 5% increase to all ability damage, a 10% boost to auto-attack damage, and a 10% increase to Ferocious Bite damage. Restoration Druids saw all healing increased by 4%.

Hunters received damage increases for their pets and themselves. Beast Mastery and "Survival" Hunters both saw a 7% increase to all damage dealt by the player and their pet, with the Survival increase reduced to 3% in PvP combat. A bug was also fixed for Wild Thrash to correctly account for target bounding radius.

Mages saw damage adjustments for their elemental specializations. Fire Mages received a 3% increase to all ability damage, excluding PvP, while "Frost" Mages gained a 6% increase to all ability damage. Monks also received changes, with "Mistweaver" Monks seeing a 5% increase to all healing and a boost to the Venomous Abyss 4-piece set bonus activation chance from 20% to 25%. Windwalker Monks received a 4% increase to all ability damage, excluding PvP.

Paladins saw adjustments to "Protection" Paladins to help them keep up with other tanks, especially in dungeons. Blaze of Glory damage was increased by 150%, while Consecration and Divine Guidance damage were both increased by 30%. Priests saw a 20% reduction to the mana cost of Shadow Mend for Discipline specializations.

Rogues received a fix for Assassination specializations, preventing Caustic Spatter from triggering from non-class Nature damage sources such as trinkets. Shamans saw a fix for the Farseer hero talent, correcting an issue where Natural Harmony was incorrectly increasing the healing of Nature’s Guardian by 20% instead of the intended 10%.

Beyond class changes, the hotfix addresses issues in Delves, Dungeons, and Raids. Trinkets no longer drop as abundantly in Delves. In Den of Nalorakk, a bug was fixed where interacting with Food Offering while mounted could cause it to become uninteractable for a short period. In Murder Row, an issue was addressed where Xathuux the Annihilator's Axe Toss could sometimes inflict less damage than intended.

The Venomous Abyss received several adjustments. Nek'zali the Soulcoiler's health was reduced by 15% on Raid Finder difficulty. In Entombed Sentinels, the health of Breath of Ula'tek and Blood of Ula'tek was reduced by 15% on Raid Finder. Sszorak's health was reduced by up to 10% for smaller raid sizes on Normal and Heroic difficulties, and the number of players targeted by Raging Crosswinds was reduced on these difficulties.

In The Twin Fangs, several issues were resolved, including a bug where immunities prevented players from receiving additional applications of Eternal Venom beyond the death threshold on Mythic difficulty. The number of applications before the target dies from Eternal Venom was increased to 10 on Mythic, and the minimum number of targets for Ravenous Feast was increased to 4 on Mythic. Vexhul and Ithraz health was reduced by 20% on Raid Finder, and the maximum health damage effect of Eternal Venom was reduced to 50% on Raid Finder.

The Coiled Altar saw damage reductions for Coalesced Venom and Venom Rupture on Mythic and Heroic difficulties, along with health reductions for Spiteful Soulcoiler and Zul'jan on smaller group sizes. The cast time for Wail of Terror was increased by up to 20% on smaller group sizes on Heroic, and the minimum number of players needed to be hit by Guillotine and Grim Guillotine to avoid failure damage was reduced to 3 on Raid Finder, Normal, and Heroic difficulties.

In Ula’tek, killing a Blightscale Wretch while outside of its Toxic Womb no longer triggers the Spectral Head to submerge. The impact animation on a creature affected by Revenge was also adjusted to prevent nameplate shifting, making interrupts easier.

Tidebound Grotto received adjustments to Nymrissa Wavecaller and her murlocs' health, reducing it by up to 10% for lower group sizes on Normal, Heroic, and Mythic difficulties. Frost Orb initial and periodic damage was reduced by up to 33% for lower group sizes on Normal and Heroic, and by up to 17% on Mythic. The aura duration of Frost Orb was reduced to 12 seconds from 16 seconds.

In Voidscar Arena, the visuals of Taz'Rah's Darkbloom orbs were updated to better match their impact radius. In Items, the Satchel of Corrosive Coins sold by Er'iyne is no longer unique.

PvP changes focus on improving combat pacing and balancing healer and tank utility. The Gladiator’s Distinction set bonus now grants 5% primary stat for all healing specializations, down from 10%, to reduce the speed at which healers can top off targets. A bug was fixed where the Training Grounds quest for casting an interrupt was not properly granting credit.

Demon Hunters saw changes in PvP. Devourer Demon Hunters received a 5% increase to all ability damage, while Havoc Demon Hunters saw Rain from Above damage reduced to 6% of max health per bolt from 8%. Druids saw Innervate grant 20% mana in PvP instead of 25%. Feral Druids received a 15% damage increase to Ravage in PvP, while Survival Instincts now reduces damage taken by 40% instead of 50%. Restoration Druids saw Swiftmend healing reduced by 20% in PvP, and Blossom Burst and Mass Blooming now have mana costs.

Preservation Evokers saw mana regeneration reduced by 35% in PvP instead of 30%. Hunters saw damage reductions for Beast Mastery specializations in PvP, including Bloodshed, Bestial Wrath, and Pack Leader: Stampede!.

Mages received changes to their defensive abilities in PvP. Improved Conjuration reduces the cooldown of Mirror Image by 15 seconds, and Winter’s Protection reduces Ice Block cooldown by 15/30 seconds. Arcane, Fire, and Frost Mages saw their barrier absorbs reduced by 25% in PvP. Fire Mages also saw all damage reduced by 3% in PvP.

Priests saw Discipline specializations receive increases to Void Shield and Power Word: Shield absorption, as well as Atonement healing, to bring them on par with other healers. Rogues saw Preemptive Maneuver reduce damage taken by 25% instead of 40% in PvP, and Assassination Rogues saw all ability damage reduced by 4% in PvP.

Shamans received adjustments to Elemental and Enhancement specializations in PvP. Elemental Shamans saw Natural Harmony reduce the cooldown of Nature’s Guardian by 10 seconds instead of 15, while Stormbringer effects like Tempest, Natural Gift, and Stormcaller received damage and critical strike buffs. Enhancement Shamans saw Healing Surge healing reduced by 20%, while Stromstrike and Lava Lash damage were increased by 15%.

Warriors saw changes to Arms and Fury specializations in PvP. The "Safeguard" PvP talent now increases the cooldown of Intervene by 20 seconds, reducing the frequency of damage reduction and allowing enemy teams more opportunities to strike.

Finally, a bug was fixed that prevented "Midnight" World Quests from rewarding Adventurer Crests. These hotfixes aim to improve the overall balance and performance of World of Warcraft: Midnight, addressing issues across various aspects of the game. Players should keep in mind that some issues may require scheduled realm restarts or client-side patch updates to take effect.
