World of Dokkaebi — new MMORPG from Supercat, release in October

Kakao Games held a media showcase in Seoul to reveal its next-generation MMORPG, World of Dokkaebi. Development is handled by Supercat, the studio behind Wind of the Country: Lian. The official release is scheduled for October, with pre-registration beginning on August 20 at noon.

The game draws its lore from the web novel Myeolmangjeon and features an Eastern aesthetic blended with Korean mythology. Visually, it combines 2D dot-art characters with a 3D environment, applying lighting and shadows to the characters themselves.

World of Dokkaebi removes traditional class distinctions. Players build their combat style by combining skills from 12 types; equipping three skills of the same type unlocks a unique ultimate ability. The game also features a decentralized PvP matchmaking system that prioritizes strategy over raw power.

An AI assistant named Myeolmangjeon will analyze player data and suggest progression paths. Additionally, developers have established a Dokkaebi General Assembly for direct communication with the community.
