VCT Americas Stage 2: August 6–8 Schedule and Why Week Four Matters

Week four of the VCT Americas 2026 Stage 2 group phase runs August 6–8. The official schedule lists five best-of-three series: Evil Geniuses vs FURIA, ENVY vs NRG, 100 Thieves vs Cloud9, G2 Esports vs LOUD, and KRÜ Esports vs Sentinels. Times below are in UTC.

Week Four Schedule

Evil Geniuses face FURIA at 21:00 UTC on August 6. ENVY vs NRG follows at 00:00 UTC on August 7, with 100 Thieves vs Cloud9 at 21:00 UTC. G2 Esports vs LOUD is scheduled for 00:00 UTC on August 8, followed by KRÜ Esports vs Sentinels at 21:00 UTC.

All five matches are listed as Bo3. VALORANT Esports updates schedule timing, so viewers should confirm their local timezone before broadcast. A result cannot be filled in early: until a series ends, the correct state is upcoming, with no speculative score.

Why One Series Changes the Bracket Path

Stage 2 contains 12 teams divided between Alpha and Omega groups. The top two in each group qualify directly for the playoffs. First seeds receive a round-one bye, while second seeds begin in the first upper-bracket round. Every other VCT team moves into Play-In alongside the top four Challengers teams from the Americas.

Play-In uses double elimination. The difference between first, second, and a lower placement therefore changes both opponents and the number of series required to reach the decisive stage. Week four is late enough for each result to influence seeding, but the exact table must always come from the updated official source.

What to Watch in the Five Pairings

EG vs FURIA and ENVY vs NRG open the week for their respective groups. The useful questions concern the full series: who manages the economy after pistol rounds, converts advantages consistently, and changes defense after a timeout. One completed Bo3 matters more to the standings than an impressive isolated map.

100 Thieves vs Cloud9, G2 vs LOUD, and KRÜ vs Sentinels involve organizations with large audiences. For the community, they provide direct comparisons of current regional form. Past trophies and international reputation do not replace a current Stage 2 result; conclusions must follow played maps and a confirmed score.

How to Read a Bo3 Score

A best-of-three series ends when one team wins two maps, so its final score is 2–0 or 2–1. An individual map score does not replace the series score: 13–11 on map one describes the closeness of one stage without deciding the entire match. The completed Bo3 remains the primary result for standings.

When publishing a result, the team order from the match card should be retained and the winner recorded separately. This prevents a mirrored error in which correct numbers are assigned to the wrong side. If the official organizer changes a technical ruling or postponement, the match status must change as well as the surrounding article text.

How Stage 2 Connects to Champions Shanghai

Riot Games lists four VCT Americas routes to Champions Shanghai: the Stage 2 champion, the Stage 2 runner-up, and the two leading teams by Championship Points. The tournament is consequently both a regional championship and the final regional filter for the largest international event.

The VCT Americas Finals take place outside Los Angeles for the first time, in São Paulo from September 4–6. Teams must still move through groups, Play-In, and playoffs. The August 6–8 matches matter as part of a route that steadily reduces the room for error, not merely as one weekend of exhibition games.

Following the Event Without Stale Data

Official VCT Americas broadcasts are available on Twitch and YouTube in English, Portuguese, and Spanish. A match card should first hold its scheduled time, change to live after the start, and receive a final score only after completion and verification against the official schedule.

That order prevents two common errors: declaring a winner early and leaving an old match marked as upcoming. Every series needs a date, exact team names, Bo3 format, current status, and confirmed result. Sources: Riot Games; VALORANT Esports; VCT Americas.
