Vanguard Introduces New Driver Signature Checks
The Vanguard anti-cheat for VALORANT has received an additional check for driver digital signatures, according to a report by user ogisada on X.
The update aims to detect and block malicious drivers that gain unauthorized access to computer memory. Following the change, users with RDMA configurations and network USB adapters reportedly faced blocks when using certain drivers. However, the specific driver names and the exact nature of these restrictions have not been disclosed.
It remains unclear whether these measures involve blocking driver operations, restricting game launches, or issuing account sanctions, so the report does not confirm a new wave of bans. Riot Games has previously stated that DMA equipment can be used to access RAM by bypassing the CPU and the operating system. To counter such hardware, Vanguard utilizes hardware memory protection and Secure Boot checks.
