Turtle Beach Stealth Flip: A Controller with a Transforming Module
Turtle Beach has unveiled the Stealth Flip Wireless Controller, a gamepad featuring a unique modular design. The standout feature is its ability to transform: users can switch between standard thumbsticks and touchpads using a rotating module.
A Unique Transformation Mechanism
While modularity isn't new—seen in solutions like Sony's DualSense Edge—Turtle Beach has taken a different approach. Instead of fully removing components, the Stealth Flip uses a rotating mechanism. The module, which combines a thumbstick, D-pad, and ABXY buttons, can be flipped around its axis to change its function.

The back of the controller features two touchpads instead of the usual thumbsticks. This design choice draws inspiration from the Steam Controller, offering an alternative input method that is highly effective for PC gaming, particularly in titles that benefit from mouse-like precision. The touchpads are paired with microswitches rated for 5 million clicks, while the standard thumbstick configuration utilizes traditional rubberized caps.
Technical Specifications and Features
The controller is designed for PC, Android, and Smart TV platforms. Connectivity options include wireless (Bluetooth or proprietary radio frequency) or a USB cable. When connected via USB, the device supports a 1000 Hz polling rate for reduced input latency. The wireless mode offers up to 20 hours of battery life.

Other high-end features include:
- Hall Effect sensors for the thumbsticks to ensure precision and longevity;
- Physical trigger stops;
- Two rear paddle buttons;
- Support for four custom profiles via the Swarm app on PC.
Price and Availability
The Turtle Beach Stealth Flip is available now through their webshop and retail channels. The MSRP is set at approximately €100, placing it in direct competition with the Steam Controller. This positions the device in the upper-midrange segment, significantly below the price point of luxury-tier controllers.
