Vasilis "TheRock" Voltis, head coach of Natus Vincere, has been candid about his team's struggles following a 1-2 defeat to Team Vitality at LEC 2026 Summer. In an interview with Sheep Esports, the coach admitted that the current roster has likely reached its ceiling and is now "drowning" in the league after previously swimming for two splits.
The decision to keep the same lineup for the Summer Split was a deliberate gamble aimed at fostering better synergy among players. However, TheRock acknowledged that this approach failed to produce the expected results, noting that while they have tried various methods to improve, execution in specific in-game situations remains their primary weakness.
Rhilech's Potential
Despite the team-wide issues, TheRock specifically highlighted Rhilech as a player with significant room for growth. He views Rhilech as the central figure around whom he wants to build the future roster and expressed satisfaction with his development, noting that while he sometimes picks up concepts slower, he executes them more accurately and efficiently.
Practice Overhaul
The coach also outlined plans to change the team's approach to scrims. Moving away from random fights or early forfeits, TheRock insists practice games must have specific objectives and a clear theoretical basis. Going forward, the team will utilize the Practice Tool more intensively to focus on teamfighting, early-game scenarios, and mid-game macro.
Upcoming Match vs Fnatic
Natus Vincere currently hold a 3-4 record in the group stage, with their chances of finishing in the top four approaching zero. Consequently, TheRock has shifted his focus entirely to qualifying for the playoffs. With two crucial matches ahead, including a showdown against Fnatic, the coach believes that if they play as well as possible, victory is achievable.
