The Blood of Dawnwalker's update 1.1 adds a 'forgiving' difficulty setting and directional animal petting
Rebel Wolves is gearing up to release update 1.1 for The Blood of Dawnwalker next week. The upcoming patch promises to overhaul the difficulty settings and introduce a highly unusual mechanic involving animal interaction.
The studio is addressing player accessibility by rebranding the previous lowest difficulty to "Forgiving." Additionally, a new "Story" difficulty mode will be introduced to provide extra assistance during combat encounters.
Technical improvements are also a priority for this update. The developers aim to boost performance through better frame generation and address movement issues. Players can expect smoother transitions when switching between enemy targets and more fluid movement while phasing or walking on walls.
To support character customization, the update will introduce the Draught of Mind Rebirth potion. This item allows players to reset all perk and ability points, enabling them to experiment with different builds for Coen without needing to restart the entire story.
Perhaps the most intriguing addition is "directional animal petting." Rebel Wolves has teased the feature by asking what happens when a directional combat system is merged with the ability to pet cats and dogs. It remains to be seen how this mechanic will function alongside the game's precise combat requirements.
